My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Psychische Gesundheit und Suizidprävention

NYC Marathon 2023 2.0 (1.0 postponed due to COVID)

Several cases of severe mental illness in my close circle of friends have pushed me to engage and challenge myself. Therefore, I am raising awareness and money by racking my body and mind pushing myself to the limit of what's possible: running the NYC Marathon in 3 under 3 - less than 3h with 3 months of intense training. (ps if you donate I will share my live location with you ;))

I will be running in the name of all people that are suffering from mental diseases and suicidal thoughts. In particular, I want to draw attention to the high male suicide rate and its' societal negligence. In Germany, more than 19 men commit suicide every day. That is three times the number of female suicides - and the trend is rising. In Europe, more people die from suicide than from traffic accidents, drug abuse, AIDS and murder combined.

To date, mental illnesses are rarely diagnosed precisely - let alone accompanied by appropriate treatments. Meanwhile, everyday stress situations & (social) media have become the main cause of depression, dementia and psychoses.
