Our Motivation

Welcome to the Movember page of the research group ‘Translational Urooncology‘ led by Prof. Dr. Daniel Nettersheim. We are part of the ‘Department of Urology‘ of the ‘University Hospital Düsseldorf‘, Germany.
We focus on the molecular and (epi)genetic mechanisms of testis cancer development. Furthermore, we analyze principles of cisplatin-resistance and screen for novel therapeutic options for (cisplatin-resistant) testis cancer.
Our clinical colleagues take care of testis cancer patients of all stages including late stage, therapy resistant and refractory patients. Several clinical studies to improve chemotherapy- and surgery-based therapy of testis cancer were initiated by our Department of Urology.
Additionally, we are part of the Lighthouse Project ‚Germ Cell Tumors‘ of the Center for Integrated Oncology Aachen, Bonn, Cologne and Düsseldorf (CIO-ABCD).
We know there is still need for new and better therapies as well as psychological support for patients. Please donate!
