We work closely with our global men's health partners to ensure collaboration, transparency and accountability for every project we fund. We monitor this through report cards which detail what we seek to achieve, key measures and the impact.
Prostate Cancer
"Together with the brightest minds in research, we aim to achieve significant breakthroughs in the hope of beating prostate cancer. Our disruptive funding approach identifies revolutionary ways to accelerate health outcomes by creating strong, global collaborative teams." Dr. Colleen Nelson, Global Scientific Chair.
Men's Health
"One Mo can help change the face of men’s health through the powerful conversations created globally during Movember. Men have the chance to confidently discuss men’s health with people around them, resulting in men taking action early, helping change and save lives." Paul Villanti, Executive Director, Programmes
Mental health and suicide prevention
“The number of men taking their own lives around the world is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Movember is working to ensure all men and boys look after their mental health and are comfortable to seek help when they’re struggling.”
Brendan Maher, Global Director, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
Testicular Cancer
“Despite being the 2nd most common cancer in young men, testicular cancer is often a forgotten cancer due to early detection and treatment. Our projects look at underinvested areas such as improving access to healthcare services and treatment options for relapse” Paul Villanti, Executive Director, Programmes.

The Irish Cancer Society is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone concerned about cancer. Prostate Cancer patients, relatives, friends and healthcare professionals can all contact our specialist cancer information nurses via the National Cancer Helpline (freefone 1800 200 700), by email, through the website www.cancer.ie, online Live cancer chat or by dropping into the Irish Cancer Society's head office. The Cancer Information Service comprises of 11 nurses, an Information and Resource Officer and a Manager with 2 specialist prostate nurses.
This is a free and confidential service.

Cancer information was provided to patients, relatives, friends and Health Professionals via phone, email, Podcasts, live chat and drop-in service users. Information provided was focused on topics such as Cancer and treatment, Reducing risks, Palliative care, Symptoms, Fear of re-occurrence, Support Services and Counselling.

Literature was provided in the form of patient booklets and factsheets.
The specialist nurses provide input and review material with the editors.
Through social media, a live Q&A took place with the cancer specialist nurses on prostate cancer during Movember. Client satisfaction/evaluation – use of an evaluation form for service users to monitor satisfaction level, improve service users experience, use feedback to develop services for enquiries to ensure accessibility and relevance of service.
Ongoing internal service evaluation including call listening and updating of policies to keep them relevant.
New policies and processes were developed to maintain excellent service to the public.

As the program detailed in this report card supports men with prostate cancer as well as boys and men with testicular cancer, this report card is shown in both the prostate cancer and testicular cancer categories.
