Motörhead frontman Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister is one of the most revered figures in rock 'n roll history. His death in 2015 after a brief battle with prostate cancer left an empty pair of shoes (or rather, leather boots) that are impossible to fill.
Yet Lemmy's legacy continues to burn bright and fierce.
Who can forget his five-decade career, making ear-shattering rock 'n roll – which includes more than 20 albums with "the loudest band in the world".
And then there's Lemmy's signature moustache. Arguably the most recognisable in rock n’ roll history, it's one reason why Motörhead are proud to announce they've teamed up with Movember's annual fundraising campaign.
Motörhead supporters (and lovers of all things rock 'n roll) are encouraged to help Movember raise much needed funds and awareness for men's health projects.
Supporters ‘Shave Down’ for 1st Movember and then raise funds by growing a moustache – or in this case, their very own ‘Lemmy Mo’ – through the month formerly known as November.
All funds directly support men’s health projects across mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. That means your fundraising efforts can help save a father, a brother, a son, a friend, a partner, a man’s life.
There are other benefits for fans, too. There's a chance to win a selection of very special Motörhead prizes. There'll be an official photo contest for participants (and Movember will help with a Grow a Mo like Lemmy tutorial). And more.
So what are you waiting for? Sign up at movember.com/lemmy, grow a Lemmy Mo, and have fun, doin' good.
